Do I need to provide the photograph for you to paint from?
Yes, this is preferred.
Are there photograph requirements?
The parts that you want painted in-focus, should also be in-focus on your photo. A digital photo is easiest, but I can work with a quality printed photo as well.
What about the background in my photo for my pet?
Simple is more attractive and will help your pet stand out. However, I realize that it’s sometimes tricky to capture a photograph with the perfect background. Don’t worry if your photo has a less than ideal background, we’ll figure something out.
Can more than one pet be in each painting?
Sure! I will try my best, but keep in mind that any number beyond two may hinder the quality of painting, as the smaller I must paint, the trickier it is to fit everything in. Please note that due to time/detail required, there will be an added fee of $40 for each additional pet beyond the first.
What type of surface do you paint on?
8×10 paintings are on gallery-wrapped canvas. Watercolor paintings are on 300 lb Arches paper.
What kind of paint do you use?
I use both professional quallity transparent watercolor and heavy-bodied acrylics.
How long will it take for my painting to be completed?
Please allow a minimum of 4 weeks after I receive your photo. If you are in a hurry, please contact me to discuss options.
Will I see my painting before it’s shipped/delivered?
Once your painting has reached the final stages, I will send you a digital proof. I want your painting to make you smile and if I need to make a couple little tweaks to get it just right, that’s what I’ll do!
Please don’t forget:
· Mark the pose you prefer, but send additional photos for accurate coat and eye color if necessary
· Outdoor photos with NO FLASH work best
· Photos taken at same level as your pet are most interesting
· e-mail photos to lakeviewstudio@icloud.com, highest resolution possible, you may need to send one photo per email if the images are large.
